A truism is a statement that is obviously true and encapsulates a lesson:"The truism that you get what you pay for."
We use truisms to smooth transitions in hypnotic communication and impart lessons that seem almost common sense when we share them in everyday life. The truisms we use have to be applicable to large population of people and the topics often straddles philosophy and psychology. Getting familiar with a variety of topics is helpful because truisms are perfect setup for embedded commands and establishing "yes sets".Anything that the subject cannot deny as being true can become a truism for you to pace, lead, and focus attention on. While truisms are indeed "real world" observations, they were perceived through a subjective filter - my brain - which, for better or worse, includes all kinds of exotic and diverse influences.
So, in my truisms you will find elements of Taoism, psychology, M/s ideals, and What They Don't Teach You At Harvard Business School, make no mistake: they're all practical lessons that can help your relationships, sex life, and your career.
Below you will find some of the truisms I use with the people I work with. As you read the statements below think about what truisms that you would use and highlight as important elements of the experiences you plan to share with others.
